BEIJING – Internet giant Baidu has made billions following in Google’s footsteps in China’s emerging online market. Now, after coming to dominate the Chinese online search business, Baidu is right on the heels of the rollout of Google Glass, with its own interactive eyewear, reports Sina Tech.

Though still in a preliminary phase, the company plans to produce the glasses to feature a tiny LCD screen, image recognition technology, voice control capability and bone-conduction audio. Sounds familiar?

Baidu’s director of international communications, Kaiser Kuo, confirmed the existence of Eye on Wednesday to Mashable. While Kuo said Eye is a different product from Glass in terms of functionality, he admitted that the concept is similar.

No one should be surprised by this sort of Chinese “inspiration” from elsewhere. Here are some other ‘similar’ products:
