New Gaza strikes
April 3 – Palestinians mourn and tend to the wounded after Israeli airstrikes hit Ahli Arab Hospital in northern Gaza. Israel’s military recently announced its plans to expand its ground offensive in the area.
Myanmar earthquake aftermath
April 2 – A damaged pagoda near Mandalya, Myanmar, just days after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the region. The disaster has claimed over 3,000 lives in Myanmar and neighboring countries.
Haiti flares up
April 2 – Protesters demonstrating against rising gang violence in Haiti have clashed with police, like here in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince. Demonstrators demand government action for more safety.
South Korea upholds Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment
April 4 – South Korea’s Constitutional Court unanimously removed President Yoon Suk Yeol out of office Friday, upholding parliament’s impeachment petition over Yoon’s imposition of martial law in December 2024. The court rejected most of Yoon’s argument that he declared martial law to sound the alarm over the main opposition party’s abuse of its parliamentary majority. Thousands of people at a rally calling for Yoon’s ouster in Seoul erupted into wild cheers.

April 4 – King Charles III plays with the London Vegetable Orchestra during a reception at Windsor Castle celebrating community music.
Eid prayers at the Taj Mahal
March 31 – Muslim devotees offer Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Taj Mahal, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
