MAKHACHKALA – Herding cattle can be a dangerous proposition in Russia’s southern province of Dagestan, reports The Guardian. But Aishat Maskudova was ready when a wolf who had previously gone after her calves came for some human flesh.
After being bitten by the wolf, the 56-year-old woman used an axe to kill the animal with a few swift blows. From her village of Novo Biryuzyak, here is proud Aishat telling her story:
