ROUBAIX- A 73-year-old French woman rang in the New Year in a supermarket in northern France after being locked in for the night.
The elderly woman went into bathroom after feeling slightly dizzy, reported La Voix du Nord. When she came out, she found the supermarket empty – and closed.
She spent the night walking around, tripping off the alarm multiple times, but the supermarket’s manager only showed up the next morning, finding the retiree dehydrated and hungry, according to the AFP.
It begs the question: if you were stuck in a French supermarket for New Years’ Eve, wouldn’t you spend the night guzzling pricey Champagne and eating foie gras and truffles?
