Worldcrunch is an independent digital media that capitalizes on a partnership network of more than 40 international news outlets, allowing it to translate and adapt their best journalism into English. It’s a unique editorial offering that provides access to a diversity of high-quality journalism from multiple points of view around the world, and delivers it to a global audience. It is sustained by a mixed economic model based on advertising and subscriptions.
“At Worldcrunch, we believe that quality information must not be given away free, but also should be made accessible to as many people as possible. That’s why we protect access to our articles through a paywall, offering a one-time subscription for what we consider a fair and affordable price — open to anyone who wants to stay informed starting at $2.90 per month or $19.90 per year,” explains Benjamin Sabbah, general manager of Worldcrunch.
“Information does not need to be paid for twice, by both our readers or advertisers. It’s a gamble to think that the increase of subscriptions will compensate for the decrease in revenue that goes with getting rid of advertising. But we are very happy to take this chance to better satisfy our subscribers,” adds Benjamin Sabbah.
Throughout 2023, Worldcrunch will offer new types of news content and new services to its current and future subscribers while maintaining its deliberately competitive positioning.
