(AP) KIEV – Ukraine has postponed a regional cooperation summit of Central and Eastern European nations boycotted by most heads of state over the treatment of jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

More than a dozen heads of states have refused to attend the May 11-12 summit at the Crimean Black sea resort of Yalta after Tymoshenko went on a hunger strike protesting an alleged beating by prison officials. The Ukraine Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that it has decided to put off the summit until a later date.
