CANNES – Only three days after France’s biggest heist ever, two gunmen robbed a luxury watchmaker on Wednesday morning in the French resort city of Cannes in southern France.
The value of the theft at the Kronometry store on the famous Croisette is not yet known. The store had already been attacked in February when 150 watches (worth around $1 million) were stolen, AFP recalls.
This is the fourth jewelry heist since May and the second in three days. On Tuesday, investigators were still at work looking into last Sunday’s theft of jewels worth close to $136 million, stolen from an exhibition at Cannes’ luxurious Carlton Hotel, CNN reported.
