Photojournalist and National Geographic storyteller Ed Kashi has traveled to rural Peru to document the effects of Chronic Kidney Disease of undetermined causes (CKDu), which risks turning into a global epidemic and may be exacerbated by global warming. Raphael Diaz, 53, lives in Sullana with his wife and two kids. For more than five years, Diaz, has spent three days per week on dialysis after being diagnosed with CKDu.
