German scientists warn global warming is accelerating faster than expected, raising the risk of a 3 °C rise by 2050 and forcing Europe to confront unthinkable adaptation plans.
He was part of the team of the newly founded ZEIT science magazine, then worked as a science editor at “Spiegel Online,” and joined ZEIT’s science department in 2009, where he served as deputy head of the department until 2021 and is currently a science correspondent. He co-hosts the podcast “Auch das noch?” with Petra Pinzler. He is also the co-author of “Auch das noch! – das freundlicher Krisenbuch” (Herder, May 2025).
