OneShot: Florence, A Silent View From Space

Look into her eye… The East Coast of the United States was bracing for Hurricane Florence to make landfall Friday, with hundreds of thousands evacuating to avoid potential for deadly wind, rain and flooding. Here she was captured churning across the Atlantic earlier this week by ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst with a super wide angle lens outside the International Space Station. It’s hard to imagine Florence’s powers of destruction when you look at her snowy and quiet silhouette from 400 kilometers above.
