German Daily Gives Middle Finger To Right-Wing Party

"Right is the New Center," writes Berlin-based daily Die Tageszeitung on the front page of its Wednesday edition, with a picture of a garden gnome giving the middle finger.

The German daily, known for its tongue-in-cheek humor, features an analysis of a new political force to be reckoned with in the country: the Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland, or AfD), a eurosceptic right-wing party founded in 2013, which recently won seats in five German state parliaments.

Die Tageszeitung asks of this new right-wing force: "What exactly does it look like? And how is it changing democracy?"
