Chen Guangcheng wants to leave China on Hillary Clinton's plane
US State Department confirms blind activist at center of growing diplomatic standoff has told its officials he now wishes to leave China.
(GUARDIAN) BEIJING - Chen Guangcheng, the Chinese activist at the centre of a growing international storm, has said he wants to leave the country on Hillary Clinton's plane when she flies out of Beijing at the end of this week.
US state department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland confirmed that Chen and his wife had spoken to US officials and "they as a family have had a change of heart about whether they want to stay in China". She said US officials needed to talk further with Chen to decide on options.
