Terminal C of Amsterdam's Schipol airport in the Netherlands was closed on Wednesday after building work uncovered a suspected World War II unexploded bomb, barely a day after authorities in Germany had to detonate a war-era bomb in the heart of Munich.
A bomb disposal team is at the scene in order to determine whether the bomb is still active.

BBC News reports that air traffic will be heavily affected, according to an airport spokesperson. Terminal C mostly serves European destinations, and passengers are advised to check their flight status.
Schipol Airport handles approximately 48 million passengers every year, making it one of Europe's busiest. Germany used Schipol during World War II and the airport was often bombed, according to Dutch News.
The bomb alert comes barely a day after German authorities had to detonate an unexploded World War II era bomb in the heart of Munich, Der Spiegel reports. Watch footage of the impressive blast below:

The 550 pound American bomb was buried three feet deep. Authorities had to evacuate approximately 2,500 people from around the site for a controlled detonation, after attempts to defuse the bomb were unsuccessful.
